Overview
In our KS3 maths classes, we focus on making maths accessible, fun and relevant to real world problems. We teach our students to understand the mathematics and why they are doing it, rather than just rememering methods. Our aim is that our students truly understand the maths they are doing, we believe this is the best way to learn maths.
Each term builds on the material covered in the last term so content is constantly revisted. We take this approach so none of the material taught is forgotten from one term to the next.
All our courses are run through our web app, when you click sign up it will take you to the app and ask you to make an account, you need to do this in order to sign up to a course.
Lesson times: Tuesdays 10am and Fridays at 9am. Both classes need to be attended or watched on a recording to get the most out of this course.
Completing this course will help you/your child:
- Gain confidence in their maths skills.
- Consolidate and extend all their primary maths knowledge.
- Learn to apply maths to real world problems.
- Learn to use different parts of maths in the same question.
Who is the course for?
Any children aged 10-14 who have finished their primary level maths and want to take the next step. And students who aren’t quite ready to emabrk on an IGCSE course and would like some key concepts consolidated before taking the next step.

Learning Path
We spend a lot of the first term working on fractions and many different types of problems using fractions. So not only do the students gain an understanding of how to do sums with fractions, but also apply their knowledge of fractions to compound and real world problems.
24 lessons.
In the second term we introduce percentages and ratio. These topics go hand in hand and also include fractions so the material taught in term 1 is continuously applied.
24 lessons
In the third term we introduce algebra. We teach the basic rules of algebra and solving equations. Then we revisit fractions, percentages and ratio problems with algebra as part of the problem so all the topics taught in the course are consolidated.
