inspiring the next generation of writers!

We will be exploring a range of engaging extracts from English literature and non-fiction. We will be using the extracts as a springboard for developing both reading comprehension and writing skills (creative writing and discursive writing). Rather than considering isolated extracts as often occurs in 11+ examination papers, we will be studying key points in major works of literature, poetry and non-fiction so that students will gain an appreciation of the ‘whole text’. Questions will be presented in the 11+ ISEB examination format which also will benefit students who will later be preparing for GCSE examinations.
