We are proud to have John Yates and Jettie Baker as our dedicated team of maths tutors. They have a total combined experience of over 8 years tutoring both online and in person. They have both studied mathematics at university. Jettie is in her third year of her integrated masters course, John has finished his third year and is soon to graduate.
John Yates is our head of physics, he has 4 years experience tutoring physics. He got an A at A-level physics and A* at GCSE. He also has a minor in physics from Lancaster University. Before John realised his vocation was tutoring he wanted to be a theoretical physicist and still has that passion for physics today.
Our physics lessons stand out because we focus on teaching a relational understanding of physics first, then we teach the student to apply their understanding of physics to exam style questions. We focus on teaching students how to set our their answers in order to consistently hit marking points on mark schemes, we help the student understand why the mark scheme requires them to answer the question in that way.
We are proud to have John and Jettie as our chemistry tutors. John is now fully booked for chemistry this year but Jettie still has some availability. Jettie got an A at GCSE chemistry and a B at A-level chemistry. She is extremely passionate about all things chemistry.
John Yates is our head of astronomy, he did his astronomy GCSE when he was homeschooled at the age of just 13. He has always had a passion for astronomy and carries that passion forward with his tutoring style. He went on to study various topics in astronomy in his physics A-level and in his first year of university.
Anita is our head of Business Studies, she specialises in teaching Business Studies and also runs her own business, so she can offer her students real-life examples of how businesses are run. She structures her lessons to identify gaps in knowledge and understanding. Once these gaps have been filled she moves onto to build the students confidence in exam skills.

John and Jettie have been private tutors for a number of years and struggled to find a website that had resources for all levels and a good variety of subjects. So we decided to create Priority Learning, a one-stop-shop for all your maths, science and business studies educational needs. Our vision is to cover all subjects at all levels. All the resources on the site are made by our tutors, so when we are setting homework we know it back to front and inside out. The material we have made has been specifically for our students needs and we can tailor worksheets and revision sheets for individual students if they learn a specific way or struggle in a specific area.
We are not an agency, we are a team and we want to keep our team small so we can provide the very best personal tutoring experience for both the child and the parents.
If you go to our app you will see the availability of our tutors as all lessons are linked up with their google calendar.
We offer a free half an hour trial lesson/consultation so we can get a feel for where the student is at and have a chat with the family to discuss the best study plan for them. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for your free lesson coupon.
